Membership
In the spirit of making our 32nd H.S.A. Annual Conference more accessible to our larger membership, including our colleagues from Haiti, the Board decided to waive the conference registration fee this year. We are only asking you to renew your membership for 2020. We also reduced the membership dues in most categories to allow for greater participation, again hoping to get many attendees from Haiti along with other students and scholars who have not yet participated in H.S.A. conferences. All are welcome to join us and become members!
We ask presenters to please renew their membership by Saturday, September 26 in order to be kept in the program. And we invite all others who wish to attend the conference to become members so they may participate on Oct. 10th and during the week-long series of Working Sessions (October 5-8) that are available to all of you. Note that this year, all membership levels include an electronic subscription to the Journal of Haitian Studies (JOHS).
How to attend the conference
Working Sessions (October 5-8th)
One day prior to the session, each attendee will receive an invitation with their unique link to attend the Working Session. Please keep this email safe as it contains your unique joining link.
Conference (October 10th)
Days prior to the event, registered members will receive their username and password that will give them access to our Website’s Members Area. Here attendees can view the program and select the session they wish to join. Clicking the room will send them to the appropriate Zoom webinar room.
Fundraiser
We also ask those of you who are so inclined to please help us sponsor some of our Haiti participants desiring to join the conference by making an additional contribution to our ‘scholarship fund’ for participants in Haiti and other emerging scholars.
We are also re-activating our tax-deductible Founders’ Circle for senior scholars who wish to support the H.S.A. office and infrastructure. The conference, while not in person, has expenses so we appreciate your continued support.
Mapou – $500 Flanbwayan – $300 Zoranje – $200
We all know that 2020 has been difficult. But H.S.A., like many organizations, is rising to the challenge of meeting member needs, including workshops for Emerging Scholars and ensuring access to our colleagues in Haiti. Please join HSA this Saturday September 26 at 5pm Eastern for the last event of the series !

Orè konferans
Jan nou te note, nou pral reyini online ane sa a, sou Zoom. Apre dizon manm nou – ou menm – nou pral fè tout kòlòk nan yon sèl jou – samdi, 10 oktòb 2020. Nou kontan anpil Atelye Travay pral lanse nan semenn anvan:

Fre ak patisipasyon manm
Nan lespri pou rann 32yèm Kòlòk Anyèl la pi aksesib pou tout manm nou yo, sitou kòlèg Ayiti yo, Konsèy la te deside retire fre enskripsyon pou ane sa a. Nap sèlman mande w pou renouvle patisipasyon manm/ kotizasyon pou 2020. Epitou nou te redwi fre patisipasyon pou pifò kategori manm pou pèmèt yon patisipasyon pi laj, nan objektif pou fasilite pi plis manm ann Ayiti epi lòt etidyan ak chèchè ki poko patisipe nan kòlòk Asosyasyon an. Tout moun byenvini pou rejwenn nou pou kòlòk la epi pou vin manm HSA !
Nap mande moun kap prezante, tanpri, renouvle fre patisipasyon manm yo nan dat limit samdi, 26 sektanm pou rete nan pwogram nan. Epi nap envite tout lòt moun ki ta renmen patisipe nan kòlòk la pou renouvle patisipasyon yo pou yo kap patisipe le 10 oktòb 2020 epi nan tout aktivite Atelye Travay ki disponib pou w de 5 oktòb rive 8 oktòb. Pou ane sa a, chak nivo manm yo pral gen akse avèk vèsyon elektwonik Jounal Etid Ayisyen nan (JOHS, nan sig angle a).
Zefò leve fon
Tanpri, nap mande moun yo ki gen volonte pou ede nou pou yo sponsò kèk patisipan ann Ayiti ki ta renmen patisipe nan kòlòk la; tanpri fè yon kontribisyon adisyonèl volontè pou ‘fon bous’ pou patisipan an Ayiti ak lòt jèn chèchè.
Epitou nap re-aktive ‘tax-deductible’ Sèk Fondatè nou pou chèchè ki avanse ki ta renmen sipòte biwo ak enfrastrikti Asosyasyon an. Malgre kòlòk la pap fèt an pèsòn, li gen depans… kidonk, nou ap apresye sipò w.
Mapou – $500 Flanbwayan – $300 Zoranje – $200
Nou tout konnen 2020 te difisil anpil! Men Asosyasyon Etid Ayisyen an, menm jan avèk tout òganizasyon, ap kanpe djanm fas ak defi yo pou nou ka reponn ak bezwen manm yo, tankou fòmasyon pou Jèn Chèchè epi asire aksè pou kòlèg nou ann Ayiti. Nou ta renmen envite ou nan denyè evènman seri a nan Samedi 26 Sektanm kap vini an 5 pm lè Ayiti
Mèsi pou tout sipò w bay Asosyasyon an! Nap tann w ak anpil enpasyans pou nou akeyi w 10 oktòb. Tanpri ede n gaye nouvèl la.
Menm si nou anfas kriz, nou la pi rèd!
