Join KOSANBA, Haitian Studies Association, and First Church Miami for the exhibition opening of Nou Souke Ansanm (We Shake Together), a powerful new photo exhibit by renowned photographer Christopher Mitchell capturing the human spirit and politics in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti on January 12th.
Hosted at Corner Coffee’s Micro Gallery of First Church Miami, this evocative collection offers an intimate and unfiltered look at the spirituality, international affairs, and love that followed one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in recent history. Mitchell’s moving images feature the intimacy between survivors, the complexities of the presence of international actors, and the revival of the Haitian people’s hope. This opening event offers a rare opportunity to experience Mitchell’s work up close, with a chance to meet the artist, have community conversation, and enjoy Caribbean Jazz over light refreshments.
The exhibit will be open to the public for a limited time, providing a space for reflection, conversation, and a deeper understanding of Haiti’s enduring spirit.
We invite you to join us for an evening of art, storytelling, and remembrance, as we honor the lives impacted by the Haitian earthquake and continue to pursue a #freeHaiti.
