Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of African American/African Diaspora History
Position Announcement
The History Department at Eastern Illinois University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in African American or African Diaspora History at the rank of Assistant Professor. Subfields open, though ability to teach courses in U.S. history preferred. The successful candidate will teach survey courses, upper-division and MA courses in their field(s) of specialization, and methods and capstone courses as necessary. This position will also support the Africana Studies minor. The candidate must demonstrate potential for research and service, a commitment to diversity, and experience promoting inclusive excellence. The candidate may be expected to teach online as needed, with requisite training provided by the university if necessary. PhD required; ABD considered if degree is expected by date of appointment on August 16, 2021.
